Mihai Precup is the President of the Agency for Monitoring and Evaluating the Performance of State-Owned Enterprises. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the European Investment Bank (EIB). He previously served as Secretary of State within the Prime Minister's Office. Prior to that, he was a Secretary of State at the Ministry of Finance, where he was responsible for managing state participations, the public investment management division, and relations with the OECD regarding corporate governance.
He was a partner and member of the investment committee of a private equity fund with subsidiaries in Luxembourg and Bucharest. He has also worked in banks in investment and development fields in Luxembourg and France.
For 5 years, he was a lecturer at Sorbonne University in Paris, where he taught courses on Monetary Policies and private equity. He completed a doctoral program in private equity conducted jointly between Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne University and West University of Timișoara.
Previously, he graduated from the undergraduate program at the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies and pursued a master's degree in financial engineering at Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne University.
For several years, he served as an advisor to the Vice President of the EIB, with responsibilities related to Southeastern Europe (Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania, and FYROM). In this capacity, he supported financing totaling over 10 billion euros for the development of public projects and local companies.
His primary interest lies in the medium and long-term development of Romania.
