Being a small company or a big one, the need for liquidity is paramount in sustaining the day-to-day activity and the growth of the company. The cash flow optimisation is the most important process that guarantees the liquidity of the company for short term and plans for the longer-term sustainability. It is a process that starts from sales process, continues with contractual terms, goes from the accounting books to the cash in bank accounts, and is in the mind of a CFO, treasurer or chief accountant. 

This course allows participants to understand how to measure the business performance based on the company’s cash flow and how a good understanding of financial data can lead towards proper investing the cash surplus or identifying the needs to finance cash deficit.

The participants will be presented with different types of financing to sustain the cash flow needs and type of instruments to invest in times when company register cash flow surplus.

An optimal cash flow process helps a company to navigate the uncertain times, benefit from market environment and strengthen position with its suppliers and customers by negotiating better commercial terms for its payments and receivables.

CONTENT

  • Cash Flow: where to look for cash flow information; understanding historical and future cash-flow 
  • Cover cash flow deficit using different products: 
    •     Working Capital
    •     Term Loans
    •     Supply Chain Financing
  • Manage cash flow surplus using financial instruments offered or traded on various trading venues and channels: 
    •     Deposits
    •     Bonds and T-bills
    •     Mutual Funds 
    •     Stocks 
  • Customer protection, complex and non-complex financial products, costs transparency and reporting
  • Pre-requisites in the investment process: contracts, suitability or appropriates tests and distribution models 

During the course the concepts introduced will be practiced with interactive examples.  

Prerequisite: A basic financial background is compulsory.

Mădălina is a senior banker with 18 years of experience in banking industry on corporate lending area. She is acting now as Head of Corporate Lending Product Management Department in BCR, covering Plain Vanilla Lending Products, Supply Chain Financing as well as Financing Programs.

Her experience covers multiple areas like: corporate lending process redesign, implementation of Workflows System, multiple projects for product and process optimization which allowed her to promote internally, via trainings and presentations the business outcome. 
She holds an EMBA from Vienna University (WU).

Carmen is a banking professional with 25+ years of experience in banking and financial services. Her experience includes banking operations, working in several local banks, spanning from payments instruments to various settlement techniques and product implementation.   

Carmen is currently managing in Raiffeisen Bank Romania the capital market products portfolio. She is a member of ACI Romania and an ACCA member since 2013 and she has a Diploma issued in 2001 in Banking and Finance by University of La Crosse in a joint program with Georgetown University.
