Meet the Experts
Professor Patrick Dunne, OBE is one of the most respected voices in governance today. An award-winning author of Boards and three other leadership titles, Patrick has decades of experience advising boards across Europe, Africa, Asia, and North America. He currently chairs the board consultancy Boardelta and the charities The EY Foundation and ESSA – Education Sub-Saharan Africa, while also teaching at Cranfield School of Management and Warwick Business School. In 2023, he was awarded an OBE for his services to education and philanthropy in the UK and Africa.
Adrian Codirlașu, CFA, PhD combines over 25 years of banking and financial markets expertise with a long-standing academic career. A former Risk Director at a top international bank and Senior Economist at the National Bank of Romania, Adrian now teaches MSc students in finance and banking, covering topics from derivatives to risk management. A leader in the CFA community, he has served for more than 18 years on the CFA Romania Board, including multiple terms as President, and was twice recognized by the CFA Institute as Volunteer of the Year.
Mihai Purcărea, CFA, MBA brings more than two decades of leadership in capital markets and investment management. As President of the Board and CEO of BRD Asset Management, he oversees Romania’s largest investment company, managing over €1.5 billion in assets for more than 150,000 clients. Previously Chief Investment Officer at Erste Asset Management, Mihai has shaped investment strategies across equities, bonds, and derivatives. He also serves on the boards of CFA Society Romania and AAF and is an Aspen Institute Fellow, advancing governance and financial leadership.
